Building A Stadium - VBSA

In 1992 the Virginia General Assembly created the Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority (VBSA) to lead the effort to design, finance, construct, own, and operate a ballpark for a Major League Baseball franchise in Virginia.

The VBSA and the Virginia Baseball Club, LLC, have an exclusive agreement to work together to bring Major League Baseball to Northern Virginia. Under the terms of the agreement, the Virginia Baseball Club (VBC) funds the Authority's operations. In return, the Stadium Authority grants to VBC the exclusive right to negotiate a lease to play its games in the Authority's new ballpark.
